Finals 5

When we said we wanted an exciting finals. We had no idea how exciting! Yikes!

We are ready for the fifth game to start. Robin asks, having seen four games, can you say that we have a more deserving player than another?

No answers.

David goes first this round.

DB: QATOONO

It would be looney, said Robin, to do anything but QAT. And that is what he does!

AL: AJMNNSU

Does Adam play UNJAM beneath? We made fun of her, since QA isn't good. She said she was thinking of "ZED A."

Tony points out a 39-point play.

JUS was played and that was the play.

DB: ELNOORT There's something here says Robin, an 8, it looks familar. ENROUTE to JUS. LOON/JO/UN. We like that play.

AL: AMMNNT?

Adam gets the first blank of the game, notes Robin. MAT underneath QAT? That is what he played. No bingo says Tony.

DB: AACERTU

ACCURATE, if we had a C.

No place to put ARCUATE, notes Zev.

ACAJOU sims best. Dave found it! wow! Nice level of play says Robin (she also joked that it must be SOWPODS if he found it!) JOKE.

AL: AIMNNW?

WINgMAN/AMA/TAN. Tony says the other position sims better, for 5 more points and has no front hook. Siri likes this play for 5 less.

58-132, Adam's lead.

DB: EEEIPRT

Tony says no 8s, no 7s.

Any double-doubles through the N, she asks. TERPENE, says Joel, nice double-double. WEEP sims second. TERPENE for 36 points.

AL: EILRRUZ

WURZEL, Robin suggests. Andy saw it.

Adam played it.

Robin comments on the very good play of this game. Adam is doing what he does well, taking the lead and scoring well every turn thereafter, not that she would know anything about this, she jokes. It may not be in David's interest she says, to take the L. Keep it open.

DB: EEEGIIO

LIEGE suggests Tony, very volatile says Robin. Save E, pass 6. Robin likes, because he would have to save too many vowels, good move. Tony says passing 6 sims second to LIEGE.

He passes 6.

AL: ADEIIKR

KADI/LI suggest Joel Wapnick.

LAKIER goes down to the bottom triple for 1 more point, Zev's preference.

DB: CDEHIOX

ECHOIC, pertaining to an ECHO.

He tried EXODIC*. Adam challenged it off. British only.

Might have been an extremely costly error, she said, understatedly.

Back to Adam.

AL: DEIINTW

Robin says WINTLED Tony says INDWELT. Robin was impressed, but that idea came from Quackle.

The play is TWINED/MATT. Robin likes as it forces Dave to make 8s.

DB: CDEHIOX

OXIDE, likes Tony on Quackle.

But the play is OX/NO/EX, which opens up a bingo lane. Robin is still worrying about Dave's last turn.... why did he do it?

AL: FGIILOS

FOILS/ACAJOUS, not giving Dave an opening.

125-259, Adam's lead.

DB: CDEHILP

Dave blocked his own bingo, it appears. CHELIPED, was blocked :(.

HIDE/EF/DO/LEI. Sims fairly well, says Tony.

AL: ABEGIIO

Robin sees an O for under OX to clean up his rack.

GIBE. Sims well, says Tony. So, good play, Adam

DB: ACLNOPR

I say PARCH, Robin says PORCH. It is simming good.

DORP, is simming good, too, in bottom right.

Robin says that Dave has to keep the S hook open on SWINGMAN.

He played EXPO.

AL: SAYAIIO

SAY/EXPOS, played instantly by Adam.

313-189, Adam's lead.

DB: NORLARC

LARCH to the H on the triple line.

AL: AEHIIO?

Any bingos? No one thinks so.

Zev says OHIA, Robin agrees, it closes the lane.

Andy says, "Fitting that the EXPOS is on the closing game of the Canadian Nationals." Robin says, "Don't remind me, I'm still crying."

OH/OBE/HER

DB: ENNORTT

TERN, Robin says TORN.

AL: AEIIRS?

What triple-triple did he play asks Robin?

pARITIES, triple-triple, 113. Game pretty much won.

Did Dave fall under the table? Where are your racks? Did he try to jump out the window? Is that why the annotators won't tell us?

DB: ROUTINE

Robin says he wants to play POUTINE, being from Montreal.

AL: DDEFGGV

DEV/LID/ANE/REV.

DB: BOYV

Tony sees a 33-point play.

IVY was played.

320-472, adam's lead.

AL: DFGG

OF/FA

DB: BO/BI/OE

final score:

492-354. Adam wins the CNSC 2008!

CONGRATS TO BOTH Players!
