Finals 4

Wonderful lunch break and David Boys (Dorval QC) conducted an interview all in French with a CBC radio reporter. It was so impressive! There he sat, eating his lunch, chatting it up totally in French. I think even Robin was impressed.

AL: ADEEOQR exch EEOQ

DB: AEEEISY

EYE

AL: AADERST

no bingos that played.

AY

DB: AEENIOS

AEON/NAY.

AL: ADERSTU

Robin sees SATURATE, but no place.

Robin says this is a lot like playing John O'Laughlin and Jason Katz-Brown at the beginning of a game, lots of one tile passing, etc.

Passed the U.

DB: SOVIETS

SOVIETS/EYES is the play.

AL: ADDEPRST

DISRATED is what Robin says, no question. But he does not play. DAD from the triple down. We freak out. Tony Leah (Ajax ON), now on simming laptop, says that was the only bingo, but he missed it.

DB: CJLOTU?

JOULE says Salvatore Desiato (Toronto ON). Tony says no bingos

JOULE, we like the play.

AL: EHIMRST

ERETHISM is what we like.

And for 101, it is played. YEAH!

DB: ACCTZ??

CATECHIZE, asks Robin? Tony says it is good. CATCH into the H, highest simming play, says Tony.

Steve Polatnick taught Robin to do plays like CATCH, save your Z, he says! Why not?

AL: BIIIRRT

Robin thinks that Adam does not like the open S on the board. RIBIER through the E. And that is what he played.

DB: OORWZ??

Evan says WATERZOOI! But not really. OW/JO/OW, sims 5th, but we like it.

AL: AHIINTT

any 6s on this rack, asks Robin?

Joel says CHI, which blocks the lane. TAHINIS, suggest Ron. CHIA/HI/IS/AM. We like it.

DB: ELORZ??

Robin says, we have to find 9s guys, help me! Robin laughs and says HIZZONERS, almost!

Tony says there are 3 eight-letter bingos and 1 nine.

OVERZeaL, yeah, we love it!

LIONIZER, GLAMORIZE (ones that Tony saw).

AL: INTTTUU

INTUIT is a good dump says Robin. TUTU. Someone else says YUCK.

He passed 6, keeping a T, we like.

DB: AAEGNNW

TAW/AHI/WIS Robin likes. WANGUN/OWN is suggested by Tony; and Joel Wapnick saw it, too.

He plays WEAL. Robin not crazy, others nonplussed.

AL: DGKPRTY

Robin likes PERKY. And he plays it :).

DB: AEGNNNO

He just blocked ENNEAGON. (Octagon plus one....) Robin says, "that is annoying."

Sometimes I, Sherrie, feel like I'm on Mars. Every single person in this room saw ENNEAGON blocked...... WHAT? :)

NUN/OWN?

GROAN through the R. Dean Saldanha liked it a lot. Saw it as the only play he could make.

NOUN simmed the best, said Tony.

AL: ADFGLTT

205-294 (Adam is behind, or something close).

GLOW Dean calls out and that is what he plays, setting up, says Robin and Dean, his A.

DB: ELNNNUU

Robin says, "we have not seen a Q yet, so...."

We again harken back to NUN/AN, to unduplicate, and that is what he plays.

AL: ADFIMTT

MATT under NUN... maybe.

He played FAT/NA/UT.

DB: AEILNPU

He knows he has the case A, he does not have to block, says Robin. PINNULAE says Dean.... but got blocked.

UP/ASP. Tony likes it.

AL: BDEIMNT

321-241 (players have it 322-241), Dave's lead.

BIZ/GIP was played. No one had seen it. Was the highest-simming play, says Tony, gives him a 5% of winning the game.

DB: INALISE

FINALISE from the F, yeah! We have a game 5!

AL: DEMNRTX

XIS, is what Robin says, blocks the Q, blocks 9s. He plays that.

DB: DEIOQTU

No reason to not empty bag says Tony and Robin. We hear SUQ. Tony sims QUINATE through the NA He played SUQ, which Robin thinks was the best play.

AL: DEGMNRT

three tiles in bag, so 10 unseen to Adam.

Robin likes CACHMENT, he plays that. Bag is empty. And Robin says that Adam is resigned to a fifth game.

DB: DEEIOOT

DIENE, which gives Adam nothing to play through.

AL: DEFGRV

DEFER comes down DE/FE.

DB: OOT

Final score: 464-342 (they recorded it as 465-342). David wins.

Onto game 5!!
