[[Nigel Richards]] has won the 2012 National SCRABBLE® Championship in Orlando, Florida. This is his third consecutive title and fourth overall, both unprecedented achievements. He is also the reigning World Champion.
Both Richards and the runner-up, 1994 champion [[David Gibson]], won 22 games (out of 31) but Richards had accumulated a better spread (+1579 vs. +1563, a difference of only 16 points) after winning the final game against Gibson by 177 points (475 to 298). Jesse Day finisher third.
[[Sam Kantimathi]] won the [[CSW]] division with a 24-7 +481 record. Brian Bowman was second and the 1999 World Champion [[Joel Wapnick]] third.
Adam Ginzberg won the second division, Chris Canik the third division and Amalan Iyengar the fourth division.
