The general responsibilities of a committee member are as follows:

Here are some guidelines based on questions that we have received.
As a committee member, you may: * be involved participate in an official capacity with affiliated Scrabble organizations or direct non-NASPA events such as [[Youth Scrabble events, WESPA]]tourneys, charity events,* be involved in an official capacity with Scrabble-related fundraisers for literacy or other charitable causestournaments. However, when doing so,* play in events run you must abide by an unofficial Scrabble organization, or* be a member the NASPA Code of Conduct and are subject to disciplinary action – including the revocation of an unaffiliated Scrabble organizationcommittee membership – for violations.
As a committee member, you may not:
* allow Allow your NASPA membership to lapse or be suspended,* disclose Disclose confidential committee business,* be a tournament director or act in any official role within an unaffiliated Scrabble organization,* recruit members for an unaffiliated organization or players for its events, Entreat or* entreat harass players to renounce their membership in NASPA.* Recruit members for organizations not affiliated with NASPA

Failure to meet these obligations will result in a committee member being suspended from their committee duties until they successfully appeal for reinstatement.
