It was published in 2005 and edited by [[Merriam-Webster]], based on research conducted by the then
[[National SCRABBLE Association]] under the chairmanship of then [[Dictionary Committee]] chair [[Jim Pate]] and committee members [[John Chew]], [[James Cherry]], [[Joe Edley]], [[Bob Gillis]], [[Peter Huszagh]], [[Bob Lipton]] and [[Sally Ricketts]].
