== Composition ==
As of early 2011, the AB is composed entirely of appointed members, many of whom were transferred from the NSA AB.The members of the [[Executive Committee]] serve sit on the AB as ex officiomembers,as and its cochairs (the NASPA copresidents) are the AB 's cochairs. Other members serve two-year terms,each traditionally recommending their successors fromtheir own geographic region.

Beginning in [[AB 2011 Advisory Board Elections|elections2011]] were held ,for the first time to choose two elected board some of these membershave been chosen through elections.Two outgoing members were elected in 2011, and two will be replaced through this process;elected in [[2013 Advisory Board Elections|2013]]. The remainder of the seats on the rest will be reappointed or replaced board are appointed by the traditional methodExecutiveCommittee, taking into consideration the recommendations of outgoing members, and the need for balance of all kinds in the composition of the board. The next such elections will take place From time to time, the AB elevates long-serving members to emeritus status.Emeritus members do not attend the AB's regular meetings, but may be consulted occasionally in July 2013areas of their expertise.
