UNCF Donation

[photo] This letter was presented to Gwen Bishop, Director of the Year, director of NSA Club #329 in Eagle Rock CA for the past 20 years, at the beginning of Monday's Town Hall meeting, by Mark Morris of Hasbro:
Dear Gwen:

Please accept my heartfelt congratulations and appreciation for all of your work in promoting SCRABBLE® over the past twenty years. You are a remarkable woman. Single-handedly, you have greatly increased interest in the National SCRABBLE® Association in southern California, and for this we thank you and we honor you.

Gwen, we know you have another interest which may be as dear to you as SCRABBLE® --that is the United Negro College Fund. In your name and in your honor, Hasbro has made a donation in the amount of $2,500.00 to the United Negro College Fund. Please accept the donation we made in your name as a demonstration of our deep appreciation for all you have done to promote the enjoyment of SCRABBLE® over these many years.

We thank you for the time and energy you have dedicated to the National SCRABBLE® Association and we now wish you all the best. Again, on behalf of everyone involved in SCRABBLE® and the entire Hasbro family, thank you very much, Gwen. Warm personal regards.

Sincerely,
Alan G. Hassenfeld
Chairman and Executive Officer
Hasbro

Gwen was moved and delighted to with the gift, the letter, and the recognition. The town hall participants gave her a long round of applause both after the letter was read and after she gave her acceptance speech.
